Nandita Agarwal Parker – Managing Partner
Nandita Parker is one of the pioneers of Equities Research in India. Nandita is a Portfolio Manager and CEO with 20 years of combined experience in Emerging market investing, asset management and equities research. Nandita has demonstrated the ability to build and maximize the efforts of a research team utilizing the unparalleled domestic and international relationships that she developed over the span of her Wall Street and asset management career. Nandita established and founded Karma Capital Management LLC, the first India-dedicated Alternative Investment platform, in 2003. Spanning 3 decades, Nandita’s professional experience includes Emerging Markets Portfolio Management roles at two U.S based hedge funds; an International Equities Research role at American Century Investment Management, Inc.. From 2004-2005, Nandita was the India market strategist at Bear Stearns & Co. Inc. Nandita began her professional career as a U.S. Media/Entertainment analyst at Gerard Klauer Mattison & Co. Inc., in New York, from 1991 to 1994.
Nandita is the founder of the Asset Managers Roundtable of India (AMRI), an initiative which brings together members of the Investment industry of India to engage and work together with the government and the market regulators for Capital Market reforms. Ms. Parker has an MBA in Finance from the College of William & Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia), and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, with Honors, from Delhi University.
Douglas F. Parker – Partner & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Parker has more than 20 years of combined experience in investment fund operations, process and project management and risk management analysis. Prior to joining Karma in 2004, Mr. Parker was Relationship Manager and Project Manager, at GE Capital. Previously, he was Treaty Underwriter, at Swiss Reinsurance America and at General/Cologne Reinsurance. Mr. Parker served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1982 to 1987 in select leadership roles in operations and engineering on board multiple warships. Mr. Parker has an MBA in Finance from the College of William & Mary, and a BA in Economics, from the University of Rochester.
Thomas Joseph Priju – Senior Analyst, Equities Research
Mr. Priju has more than 20 years experience in Equities Research, Portfolio Management, Financial Valuation and Business Analysis. Prior to joining Karma, Thomas was a Fund Manager and Equity Analyst at TATA Asset Management covering multiple sectors including Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Information Technology, Textiles and Specialty Chemicals; and an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Mumbai teaching Security Analysis. Prior to that, he was the Manager of Research Analysts for Capital Market Research at Mercer, covering both onshore and offshore Equity, Debt and Alternative Asset Funds. Previously, he worked as a Securities Analyst covering capital goods and engineering sectors at First Global. He has published his research in both the US and India. Thomas holds a Masters in Management Studies from NMIMS and a Bachelors degree in Commerce from the University of Bombay.
Aditya Joshi, CA – Analyst, Equities Research
Mr. Joshi collectively has more than 6 years of experience in the Indian financial industry – the initial 2 years as a Auditor & Tax Advisor and the last 4 years as an Equity Market Research Analyst. Joshi’s capacities with the equity research firms has resulted into a special focus on the Indian FMCG and Consumer/Retail orientated sectors. Mr. Aditya Joshi is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI and holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce from Mumbai University.
